Scouting Programs

We are excited to announce that we are now partnering with the Girl Scouts. Join us for special programs at our museums and earn a badge!

"Manners matter…"

NOW FULL!  This session is now full, but we may be able to add an additional session if we have enough interest. Please e-mail or call our Education Coordinator, Diane Schupbach, if you are interested in signing up.

Exemplary manners and proper social graces were very important to the Victorians!  Junior Scouts are invited to discover more at the Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum, where they will earn and receive the Social Butterfly badge.  Practice the art of polite conversation, learn how to set the table, create a home-made “thank you” note, and much more.  Simple “tea party” refreshments will be served during the event. To help set the mood, girls are encouraged to wear “dress clothes”!

Each fall, we also offer:

"It's all fun and games…"

Games with friends can be so much fun!  Brownie Scouts are invited to come over and play at the Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum, where they will earn and receive the Making Games badge.  Play Victorian parlor games, go on a scavenger hunt in the historic home, create a mystery game, and much more.  Girls are encouraged to wear tennis shoes and “easy to move in” clothes for this event!

Date:  TBA, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $ 7/girl, $ 2/adult
